The VTCT (ITEC) Level 6 qualification in Mesotherapy is designed in response to the growing need for regulation within non-medical aesthetic therapies, prioritising practitioner expertise, client care, and safety in advanced non-medical aesthetic treatments. This comprehensive qualification encompasses five key learning outcomes, integrating assignments, theory exams, and case studies, culminating in a final practical exam conducted by an ITEC examiner. Completion of the coursework and assessments ensures that therapists are thoroughly prepared and qualified to deliver high-quality, safe mesotherapy services that will be required for the Ofqual Level 7.
Course Overview
This Level 6 Award in mesotherapy is suitable for students that have completed their VTCT Level 5 Needling or equivalent and are looking to upgrade their CPD Mesotherapy to an Ofqual regulated qualification.
For those who have previously completed the CPD Mesotherapy, you will focus on gaining theoretical knowledge required to sit your ITEC theory exams, learn step by step practical assessments protocols under the guidance of our skilled assessors, who will also guide you to compile an ITEC specified portfolio of evidence.
Our curriculum is designed to help you build an extensive portfolio of completed assignments, case studies and prepare you for the theory exams and the final end point examination with the VTCT /ITEC examiner.
What will the course Cover?
Unit LO1: Critically analyse the safety considerations when providing mesotherapy techniques.
This unit provides a comprehensive overview of mesotherapy, focusing on the protocols for product and equipment use, safety measures, and best practices. You will learn how to properly adhere to supplier and manufacturer guidelines for the safe handling, storage, and utilisation of mesotherapy products and equipment. These include detailed instructions on the correct use for intended purposes, risk assessments, regular maintenance, and sanitation procedures.
Unit LO2: Critically analyse accepted protocols and guidelines for providing mesotherapy techniques.
You will learn how to plan and carry out mesotherapy treatments, and in-depth client assessments of their medical history, goals, and expectations. Be able to carry out a detailed skin analysis, identify contraindications and when to make referrals. This unit also focuses on pre and post-treatment protocols, including advice on treatment intervals and lifestyle adjustments, to enhance treatment outcomes and client satisfaction.
Unit LO3: Critically analyse the uses, limitations, benefits and effects of mesotherapy equipment, products and techniques.
This unit teaches a thorough overview of mesotherapy techniques, highlighting its effectiveness in addressing skin aging and other dermatological issues. You will learn both needle and no-needle techniques, understand the associated risks and complications, and study the health and safety protocols essential for injections. The course also delves into customising mesotherapy serums to cater to various skin concerns, ensuring a personalised treatment approach. Through practical and theoretical training, you’ll gain the competence to safely and effectively apply mesotherapy treatments, tailoring them to meet individual client needs.
Units LO4 & LO5: Formulate consultation, planning and preparation protocols for mesotherapy techniques.
And demonstrate proficiency in application of mesotherapy techniques.
Unit L04 of this course focuses on consultation techniques essential for establishing a tailored mesotherapy treatment plan. You will learn how to consult with clients, assess the condition of their skin and select the appropriate mesotherapy serums and injection techniques with either the no-needle or needle techniques, ensuring health and safety during application.
Unit L05 builds on this foundation by teaching students how to create and use specific mesotherapy product cocktails tailored to address individual client skin concerns. This unit teaches the underpinning knowledge on mesotherapy serums to tailor them to the client-specific skin concern.

Entry Requirements
The VTCT (ITEC) 6 Award in Mesotherapy Treatments is a beauty aesthetic qualification aimed at level 5 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add Mesotherapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings.
Learners are required to hold a level 5 needling or mesotherapy qualification or equivalent.
