What Will I Learn?

  • Health and Safety and legislation: The practitioner must be fully conversant with all aspects of Health and Safety in the workplace environment to guarantee both the safety of clients and colleagues. It will cover aspects relating to disposal of waste and sharps (needles), maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene and Insurance.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: In all Aesthetic Beauty Treatments the practitioner must be fully acquainted with the anatomy and physiology of the area being treated. This knowledge will ensure that the practitioner is skilled in recognising arteries, blood vessels, veins, and muscular structure of the face. This module will focus on Facial Muscles.
  • The Consultation process: Practitioners must arrange and perform a consultation process to ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded. It is important that this process be performed professionally and accurately so the course will go through the various stages of the Consultation Process to guarantee that it is completed with all the relevant information necessary so a treatment can be performed safely and achieve the desired outcome. This will also include information relevant to Insurance required. In this Module the student practitioner will be guided and instructed on client selection (not all clients will be candidates for this treatment)
  • Botulinum Toxin – defined and its application (how Botox works). This module will include assessing placement of the product and quantities.
  • Botulinum Toxin – Products available and their variations
  • The prescribing Process.
  • Botulinum Toxin: How the product should be stored and the dilution quantities for treatment.
  • Injection Methods
  • Recognising Complications and their Resolution
  • Aftercare: As with all Aesthetic Beauty Treatments the clients should understand the need for the perfect aftercare to maintain their treatment results so this module will cover the various products and applications that will retain the outcome of the treatment.
  • Additional treatments: This module will cover the client’s expected outcome and how optimum results can be maintained by additional treatments in the future.
  • Practical Demonstration: This will be provided by the Trainer.
  • Practical Session: Student practitioners will complete the Consultation Process with their model following the relevant guidelines (Module 3) and with relevance to side effects, contraindications, and any risk. They will then proceed with a treatment under the supervision of the trainer. (Group numbers are limited to enable each student to ask questions and ensure that all techniques are covered).
